BEAUTY HAS A RHYTHM.

Your skin changes.

With the seasons.

With stress.

With sleep.

With age.

With your environment.

With the way you nourish yourself.

Ayurveda has understood this interconnectedness for thousands of years.

At Ellie Reid | Mind + Body + Skin in Port Jefferson, Long Island, Ayurvedic wisdom is woven into a modern approach to beauty — bringing together botanical skincare, facial ritual, touch, energy and an understanding that beautiful skin cannot always be separated from the woman living within it.

This is skincare that begins by asking a different question.

Not simply:

What is happening to your skin?

But:

What does your skin need right now?

⸻

AYURVEDA + BEAUTY

AN ANCIENT APPROACH TO INDIVIDUAL CARE.

Ayurveda is a traditional system of wellness originating in India that views the individual as a whole rather than as a collection of isolated concerns.

Central to Ayurveda are the three doshas — Vata, Pitta and Kapha — which describe patterns and qualities found throughout nature and the individual.

Those qualities can also offer a framework for thinking about the skin.

Vata qualities may show themselves as skin that feels dry, delicate or depleted.

Pitta qualities may appear as heat, sensitivity or visible redness.

Kapha qualities may be associated with heaviness, oiliness or congestion.

But you are not a skin type printed on the back of a bottle.

Your skin can change.

That is why the Ellie Reid approach is not about placing you permanently into one category.

It is about observing what is happening now.

⸻

YOUR SKIN IS NOT SEPARATE FROM YOU.

The beauty industry has taught us to look at the face in isolation.

Ayurveda invites us to look wider.

Season, environment, lifestyle, stress and daily rhythms can all influence how skin looks and feels.

A woman experiencing dry winter skin may need something very different from what she needs during the heat and humidity of summer.

Skin that feels depleted may call for nourishment.

Skin that appears heated may benefit from a gentler, cooling approach.

Skin that feels heavy or congested may call for a lighter ritual.

The ritual changes because you change.

⸻

THE AYURVEDIC FACIAL

NOT A FORMULA. A RITUAL CREATED AROUND YOU.

There is no conveyor belt at Ellie Reid.

Your facial ritual is personalized according to your skin, what I observe and the experience we are creating that day.

Ayurvedic principles may be woven together with botanical oils, aromatic plants, marma point work, facial massage and other techniques selected specifically for you.

And because Ellie Reid lives at the intersection of ancient ritual and modern beauty, Ayurvedic wisdom can exist alongside contemporary modalities.

The old and the new do not have to compete.

They can work beautifully together.

⸻

MARMA + INTENTIONAL TOUCH

BEAUTY THROUGH CONNECTION.

Marma points are traditionally understood within Ayurveda as significant points throughout the body.

Within an Ellie Reid facial ritual, intentional touch and marma-inspired techniques may be incorporated throughout the face, scalp and neck.

The experience is slow.

Deliberate.

Present.

Because sometimes the most powerful part of a beauty ritual is being given permission to stop doing — and simply receive.

⸻

BOTANICAL SKINCARE

SKINCARE SHOULD FEEL ALIVE.

Plants have always been central to the Ellie Reid philosophy.

Herbs. Flowers. Roots. Seeds. Botanical oils. Aromatic waters.

Rather than viewing skincare as simply another product applied to the face, I see it as part of the ritual itself.

Ellie Reid botanical oils are created slowly and intentionally, with selected herbs infused over time rather than rushed simply to become another product on a shelf.

Select skincare preparations are incorporated into Reiki, therapeutic sound and intentional ritual as part of the Ellie Reid approach.

Because what you put on your skin matters.

But how you experience caring for yourself matters too.

⸻

VATA

NOURISH + GROUND

Vata is traditionally associated with the qualities of air and space.

When Vata-like qualities become apparent in the skin, it may feel dry, delicate, tight or depleted.

The ritual becomes one of nourishment.

Rich botanical oils.

Warmth.

Slow intentional massage.

Grounding aromatics.

Gentle touch.

Less stimulation.

More restoration.

The intention is to support skin that feels comfortable, supple and deeply cared for.

⸻

PITTA

COOL + SOOTHE

Pitta is traditionally associated with fire and transformation.

When Pitta-like qualities appear in the skin, it may feel warm, reactive or sensitive.

Here, more is not necessarily better.

The ritual becomes quieter.

Cooling botanicals.

Gentle touch.

Calming aromatic waters.

A more considered approach to stimulation.

The intention is not to battle the skin.

It is to work with it.

⸻

KAPHA

AWAKEN + MOVE

Kapha is traditionally associated with earth and water.

When Kapha-like qualities are present, skin may feel heavier, oilier or more prone to congestion.

The ritual may become more stimulating and movement-focused.

Facial massage.

Lymphatic techniques.

Lighter botanical preparations.

Invigorating aromatics.

The intention is to awaken movement and bring freshness back to the complexion.

⸻

BEAUTY CHANGES WITH THE SEASONS.

YOUR SKINCARE SHOULD TOO.

One of the principles I love most about Ayurveda is its relationship with nature.

We don’t live in the same environment twelve months of the year — especially here on Long Island.

Cold, dry winter air does not ask the same thing of your skin as a humid New York summer.

That is why I believe skincare should evolve throughout the year.

Different seasons may call for different oils, botanicals, textures and rituals.

Rather than fighting those changes, we listen to them.

Seasonal beauty is responsive beauty.

⸻

BEAUTY FROM WITHIN

WHAT YOU PUT ON YOUR SKIN IS ONLY ONE PART OF THE RITUAL.

Ellie Reid was never intended to stop at skincare.

Beauty also has an inward ritual.

That philosophy inspired my botanical beauty teas and functional mocktails, created to turn everyday nourishment into something intentional and beautiful.

The ritual might begin with an oil on your face.

Or herbs steeping in a cup.

Or five quiet minutes at the end of your day.

Because beauty does not have to be another thing you chase.

It can become something you practice.

⸻

WHERE AYURVEDA MEETS ENERGY

MIND + BODY + SKIN.

Ellie Reid brings together traditions and modalities that are usually kept separate.

Ayurveda.

Botanical skincare.

Facial ritual.

Reiki.

Sound.

Breath.

Touch.

Intention.

I don’t believe beauty begins and ends at the surface.

A facial can care for the skin while simultaneously becoming an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and receive.

This is why Ellie Reid is Mind + Body + Skin.

Not three separate ideas.

One experience.

⸻

THIS IS NOT SKINCARE.

Skincare can cleanse.

It can hydrate.

It can exfoliate.

It can nourish.

But Ellie Reid was created around something larger.

Botanicals selected with intention.

Oils slowly infused with herbs.

Ayurvedic wisdom.

Seasonal ritual.

Beauty from within.

Energy and sound woven into the experience.

This is skincare as a practice of connection.

THIS IS NOT SKINCARE.

Beauty Beyond the Skin.
